Down's syndrome with an atypical G-G translocation derived from familial pericentric inversion in one chromosome of the G group.

چکیده
In a young male with Fanconi's anaemia, 10% of cells in a direct bone marrow preparation had chromosome abnormalities. Breaks involving primarily groups B and C members constituted the most frequent changes encountered, while 2 cells had either a dicentric or a ring chromosome. Smears from the same aspirate showed anaphase bridges in 3oo of mitoses. It is suggested that in this disease chromosome breakage is a process in vivo, and that its occurrence in bone marrow cells possibly contributes to their progressive elimination and ultimate depletion.

Goldenhar Syndrome and Pericentric Inversion of Chromosome 9
Oculo-auriculovertebral dysplasia (Goldenhar) is a congenital syndrome. Its phenotype differs from craniofacial anomalies to cardiac, vertebral or central nervous system defects. This syndrome is rare and its etiology is not apparent yet. Pericentric inversion of chromosome 9 is one of the most common structural balanced chromosomal aberrations with its incidences 15% to 25%. Herein we present ...
متن کاملInherited pericentric inversion of a human Y chromosome in trisomic Down's syndrome.
Chromosomal inversions appear to be common in many organisms, but their frequency in humans is not known. Routine human mitotic chromosome studies have shown few pericentric inversions, and meiotic studies, which can reveal pericentric and paracentric inversions, have been less extensively applied to human chromosomes. The evaluation of possible chromosomal inversions has also been limited by n...

Among 17786 karyotyres performed in our center, during 18 years (1357-1375),1300(7.3%) cases of chromosome 21 aberration, including 1284(98.77%) of Down syndrome have been detected.1191 of cases (92.76%) born free trisomy 21:61 cases (4.75%) revealed translocation and 32 cases (2.4%) showed mosaic pattern.among the pateints,59 had robertsonian translocation,2 had translocation between chromosome ...

متن کاملTranslocation and trisomic Down's syndrome in a family with a familial D-G translocation.
The reports on familial Down's syndrome (mongolism) date in the medical literature from the 20th years of this century. Familial Down's syndrome is now well-described event but relatively rare. Penrose states that pairs of affected sibs appear about once for every 100 single cases of mongolism collected at random (quoted by Soltan et al. 1964). About two-thirds of the mongoloids are close relat...
